God sal ‘alle dinge’ wat jy nodig het, voorsien

Die Bybel sê: ‘As God werklikwaar nie sy eie Seun gespaar het nie, maar Hom ter wille van ons almal aan die dood oorgegee het, is daar tog geen manier waarop Hy nie ook alle ander goeie dinge aan ons sal skenk nie.’

Een skrywer tref die volgende vergelyking: ‘Veronderstel ‘n man kom op ‘n kind af wat deur ‘n klomp skurke aangerand word. Hy hardloop tussen hulle in, red die seun en dra hom na die hospitaal toe. Daar vind hy uit dat die kind ‘n weeskind is en neem hom as sy eie aan en gee vir hom sy naam. Een nag, maande later, hoor die pa dat die seun in sy kamer huil. Hy gaan na hom toe en vra hoekom hy hartseer is. ‘Ek is bekommerd oor môre, Pappa. Waar sal ek kos kry om te eet en klere om aan te trek? Waar gaan ek slaap?’ Die pa is met reg ontsteld. ‘Verstaan jy dan nie? Ek het my lewe gewaag om jou te red. Ek het die hospitaal vir jou behandeling betaal. Jy dra my naam. Ek noem jou my seun. Hoekom sal ek dit alles doen en dan nie aan jou behoeftes voldoen nie?’

Het God jou gered net sodat jy jouself moet bekommer? Sal Hy jou leer om te loop, net sodat Hy kan toekyk hoe jy val? Sal Hy aan die kruis vir jou sondes sterf en dan jou gebede in die wind slaan? Die Skrif sê: ‘Want Hy sal al sy engele beveel om jou op al jou weë te beskerm’ (Psalm 91:11 NLV). Hou dis op om jouself te bekommer en staan vas op sy belofte dat Hy ‘ook alle ander goeie dinge aan ons sal skenk…’

God will provide “all things” you need


Romans 8:32 NIV

The Bible says, “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all – how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?”

One author gives this analogy: “Suppose a man comes upon a child being beaten by thugs. He dashes into the mob, rescues the boy, and carries him to a hospital. The youngster is nursed to health. The man pays for the child’s treatment. He learns that the child is an orphan and adopts him as his own and gives the boy his name. Then one night, months later, the father hears the son sobbing into his pillow. He goes to him and asks about the tears. ‘I’m worried, Daddy… about tomorrow. Where will I get food to eat? How am I going to buy clothes to stay warm? And where will I sleep?’ The father is rightfully troubled. ‘Haven’t I shown you? Don’t you understand? I risked my life to save you. I gave my money to treat you. You wear my name. I’ve called you my son. Would I do all that and then not meet your needs?’

Honestly, now. Did God save you so you would fret? Would He teach you to walk just to watch you fall? Would He be nailed to the cross for your sins and then disregard your prayers? Come on! Is Scripture teasing us when it says, ‘He has put his angels in charge of you to watch over you wherever you go’ (Psalm 91:11 NCV)?” You know better, don’t you? So stop worrying, and stand securely on His promise that He will “graciously give us all things.”
