Moenie praat sonder om te dink nie. Moet ook nie dinge sê wat God se Woord weerspreek nie. Dit is nie maklike beginsels om volgens te lewe nie, maar dit is kwessies van lewe en dood. Die Bybel sê: ‘Die tong het mag oor dood en oor lewe…’ Dit beteken dat jy jouself kan seën deur dit wat jy sê. Die Bybel sê: ‘Elkeen in die land wat bid dat dit met hom goed moet gaan, elkeen wat iets belowe, sal my Naam noem, want Ek is die God wat doen wat Ek belowe. Dit sal nie weer so sleg gaan met hulle nie…’ (Jesaja 65:16 ABA).
Let twee dinge in hierdie Skrifgedeelte op: 1) Jou eie woorde beïnvloed jou baie meer as enigiemand anders se woorde. Op die ou einde is dit nie wat ander mense sê nie, maar wat jy vir jouself sê wanneer hulle ophou praat het, wat saak maak. Jy kry altyd die laaste woord in!
2) Jy sal nooit die toekoms wat God vir jou beplan het ingaan, as jy nog in die verlede leef nie. Jy kan nie jou verlede uitwis nie, moet dit dus nie oor en oor in jou gedagtes herleef nie. God het gesê: ‘Vergeet al die dinge wat in die verlede gebeur het. Dis niks in vergelyking met wat Ek nog gaan doen nie. Ek gaan iets nuuts doen…’ (Jesaja 43:18-19 NLV).
Dis tyd om met God te begin saamstem en om te begin sê wat Hy oor jou sê. Dis geen geringe saak nie. Wat jy vandat jy soggens opstaan totdat jy saans gaan slaap sê, beïnvloed nie net jou dag nie; dit beïnvloed die hele uitkyk en rigting van jou lewe. Hou dit dus altyd in gedagte wanneer jy praat!

Don’t speak without thinking. And don’t say things that contradict God’s Word. Those aren’t easy principles to live by, but they’re life-and-death issues. The Bible says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” That means you can bless yourself by what you say. “He who invokes a blessing on himself… shall do so by saying, ‘May the God of truth… bless me… because the former troubles are forgotten'” (Isaiah 65:16 AMPC).
Notice two important things in this Scripture: (1) Your own words have more power to influence you than anyone else’s words. In the final analysis, it’s not what others say that matters, it’s what you tell yourself when they’re finished talking. Bottom line: You always have the last word!
(2) You will never enter into what God has planned for your future while you’re still living in the past. You can’t undo your past, so don’t relive it over and over in your head. God said, “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing” (Isaiah 43:18-19).
It’s time to come into agreement with God and start saying what He says about you. That’s no small matter. What you say from the time you get up in the morning until you go to bed at night not only influences your day; it influences the entire outlook and direction of your life. If you have been praying and asking God for specific answers, you can affect the outcome by making sure what you say lines up with what He says. So when you speak, always keep that in mind!

Dr. Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, a leading authority on death and dying, and Dr. Raymond Moody Jr., two well-known psychiatrists, examined the case histories of over five hundred people who came back to life after being pronounced dead by their physicians. Their research convinces anyone with an open mind.
The people in the study described either a location of beauty, marvel, joy, and peace, or they described something dreadful. And although their bodies were real, they reported floating outside them. After being confirmed “dead,” some who were blind were able to see. They talked about people who came into the room, what they looked like, and what they did while they were there. Yet when these people were brought back, the ones who were blind could no longer see.
In his book Life After Life, Dr. Moody writes: “A doctor told me of his experience in attending a man who had been pronounced clinically dead. He succeeded in resuscitating the man, who then sued the doctor for bringing him back into this miserable existence from the glory he had experienced. One woman, describing her situation after she had suffered a respiratory arrest, reports that the doctors trying to resuscitate her were pounding on her body trying to get her back while she was over them, looking down, and saying, ‘Leave me alone!'”
The apostle Paul explains why: “For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed… with our heavenly dwelling” (vv. 1-2 NIV). Bottom line: When you die – you really come to life!

It will not be a house made by human hands; instead, it will be a home in heaven that will last forever. But now we groan in this tent. We want God to give us our heavenly home’ (v.1-2 NCV). When we believe in God, death isn’t the end. It’s just a new beginning.

Dr Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, ‘n kundige op die gebied van dood en afsterwe en dr Raymond Moody Jnr, het saam met dr Kübler-Ross, ook ‘n bekende psigiater, die gevallegeskiedenis van meer as vyfhonderd mense wat weer lewendig geword het nadat hulle deur hul dokters as dood verklaar is, ondersoek. Die mense in die studie het óf ‘n plek van skoonheid, verwondering, vreugde en vrede beskryf, óf hulle het iets vreesliks beskryf. Hulle het ook beskryf hoe hulle buite hul liggame gesweef het. Nadat hulle ‘dood’ verklaar is, was sommige wat blind was in staat om te sien. Hulle het vertel van mense wat die kamer binnegekom het, hoe hulle gelyk het en wat hulle gedoen het terwyl hulle daar was. Tog, toe hierdie mense wat blind was terug lewe toe gebring is, kon hulle nie meer sien nie.
In sy boek, Life After Life, skryf dr Moody: “‘n Dokter het my vertel van sy ervaring toe hy ‘n man behandel het wat klinies dood verklaar is. Hy het daarin geslaag om die man weer by te bring, maar die man het hom daarna gedagvaar omdat hy hom, na die glorie wat hy beleef het, na hierdie ellendige bestaan teruggebring het. Een vrou het vertel dat sy afgekyk het op die dokters wat besig was om haar te probeer bybring en vir hulle probeer sê het: ‘Los my uit!'”
Die apostel Paulus verduidelik dit as volg: ‘Ons weet dat wanneer ons aardse verblyf, wat net ‘n tentwoning is, afgebreek word, ons ‘n permanente byplek by God het, ‘n huis wat nie met hande gebou is nie, maar wat vir altyd in die hemel bestaan. In hierdie tentwoning swoeg en kreun ons, want ons verlang daarna om ons hemelse woning te betrek’ (verse 1-2 NLV). Wanneer jy sterf – begin jy waarlik lewe!
